Question by : What are the best sports to boost metabolism?
I’m looking to loose some weight, but to become thinner, I really DO NOT want big leg muscles and stuff, ‘coz my legs are huge.:( I want thin legsss….
What are some sports that wont make me have huge muscles but will boost my metabolism and make it easier to loose weight?
PS I rollerblade a lot, just because its fun, is that a good sport?

Inline skating (Rollerblade is just one company that makes inline skates) is good. Just do it fast enough to raise your heart rate. It is easy enough to skate without doing anything but when you pick up the speed you can adjust the level of excercise to whatever works for you. You want to stay in the areobic zone where you can skate for long periods of time without running out of breath. Being able to carry on a conversation is a good indication that you are still in the zone.

Overall, any aerobic sport is good. You are looking for sports that raise the heart rate without tiring out specific muscles by using them for strength. Skating, running, biking, swiming, power walking are some of the more common ones. If some muscles are particularly out of shape, they may get tired or sore the first times you push the excercise rate but they will recover soon. It may help to vary the excercise to get more muscles reved up.

You want to avoid strength excercises like weight lifting, gymnastics or rock climbimging since they will build up the muscles that they stress.
