Hi all, I am 5’4″ and 250 lb female. I am looking to set a weight loss goal for 12 weeks. What is a realistic goal?

    12 pounds. In one week if you are 3000 cal below your normal amount you should lose 1 pound. It’s a lot to be down on each week.

    A healthy weight loss is 1-2 lbs per week. As you are over 200 lbs you may lose a bit faster than that.

    In 12 weeks I would say 25lbs or so.

    The thing to make sure is that you are losing weight in a healthy way. Doing cardio (treadmill, bike, elliptcal) and weights will help to speed up fat loss. Also, you need to make sure you are eating a balanced diet with protein, healthy carbohydrates and healthy fats in every meal.

    Protein sources:
    egg whites
    whey protein powder (isolate)

    Healthy fat sources:
    almonds/nuts (1oz per meal)
    natural peanut butter (1 tbsp max per meal)
    egg yolks
    olive oil

    Healthy carbohydrates:
