Question by alicia: Does laxative tea help with weight loss?
Hi, I’ve been restricting my calories and eating mostly fruits and vegetables. I started drinking a laxative tea (Smooth Move) at night and definitely have to “go” more often and in large quantites. (ew, sorry.)

I was wondering if the laxative tea helps with weight loss? If it’s not speeding up my eliminations, why am I going to the bathroom so much?
Thank you 🙂 I don’t want to do this for longer than a week or two because I know it’s not really healthy and stomach aches are not my favorite side effects.

Use of a laxative of any kind to lose weight is a bad idea. Mostly it just tends to dehydrate you.

Oh for sure. It will definitely aide in weight loss. Granted it is not the healthiest way to lose, and I wouldn’t recommend it for ever… Take a break every now & then from it…

The reason why you’ll lose is because you are “going” more, food doesn’t have time to become stored as fat or sit in your stomach. It goes out the other end right away =) You’ll actually lose quite a bit this way, but dont do it for long
