How To Lose 10 To 30 Pounds A Month

Question by jay d: Can you lose weight in spite of hypothyroidism or is it hopeless?
I’ve been trying to lose weight for years, but no matter how hard I try, I can’t lose those last 20-30 lbs. Seriously, there is not a thing I could do to improve my diet. I count cals, balance ratios, eat organic and pesticide free. As for activity, I seem to bloat BADLY every time I exercise, except with yoga. I was put on levothyroxine a couple years ago, gained 30 lbs without any change to diet or activity (still trying to convince my doctor about that one), and suffered heart palpitations, diuresis, anxiety, insomnia, and developed adrenal fatigue. Since then, I have gone without meds, and my symptoms have improved somewhat. However, I’m getting really bad brain fog lately. It’s affecting my grades in college, my hair is becoming really thin, and I feel sick with fatigue and sore throat 3 weeks out of the month. THIS SUCKS. I am really tempted to ask my doctor for a prescription of armour since I had such a bad reaction on levo, but I’ve read a lot of reviews about people gaining weight on armour as well. Brain fog seems to clear, mood and energy levels seem to improve, but I have yet to read personal experiences of weight loss. Please, if you know of one–SHARE!

Thanks 😛

Sadly, my friend, you’ve adopted the wrong approach by not taking your levothyroxine. It’s because your thyroid hormones are not in balance that you’re experiencing difficulty in losing weight.

A few of the side-effects of having hypthyroidism is weight gain and coarse, thinning, or losing, of hair, tiredness/lethargy. The “brain fog” could be the result of depression or memory loss, which are both symptoms of hypothyroidism.

It MAY be that the reason you were feeling so unwell whilst taking the levothyroxine was that the correct dose still hadn’t been worked out. Your doctor should regularly be checking your blood to ensure that you’re taking the right dose.

Take a look at the following webpages for more information about hypothyroidism.

I wish you well, my friend, and truly do hope that you get things sorted out.
