I get asked quite often what the best metabolism boosters are and generally surprised when I tell them things that have nothing to do with supplements.  Understanding how your metabolism works is key to weight loss.  First, let’s examine what metabolism is.  Metabolism is the process in which our bodies convert food into energy, it is as simple as that.  Now what many people are wondering is how does metabolism and weight loss go together.   Anabolism is the process in which cells are created.  Catabolism is the process in which cells break down.  For people trying to lose weight, it is important to experience catabolism.  Catabolism is important because it prevents excess energy or calories from being stored by the body and if your reading this than you know that excess calories if not burned off will be stored.

So now, we come back to the topic of metabolism boosters.   I really hate to say this but the only sure way to boost your metabolism is exercise, lifestyle and eating.  Unless you are one of those people with a blessed metabolism chances are you are going to need to do a bit of exercising to jump start your metabolism.  The best way to get metabolism boosters through exercise is doing cardiovascular, weight training, interval training and mixing it up.  While I am not going to go in-depth in which exercise routines to do I will point out a helpful link at the end of the article.

Lifestyle has every bit to do with our metabolism than some may think.  Our decisions have a profound influence on the speed in which our metabolism works.  Take for example alcohol, drinking alcohol makes a person more susceptible to over eating during a meal.  Not relaxing plays a big part as well.  When you are stressed out your body creates larger fat cells and slows down your metabolism.

Diet, all I can really say is don’t hate calories.  You have seen those who are overweight eat simple salads all day and not lose a single pound.  Depriving your body of essential calories puts your body in survival mode causing you r metabolism to slow down and hold on to things like fat instead of burning it.  Plain and simple eating more often but a smaller portion keeps your metabolism up.

Overall, without going into details these three things are the simplest metabolism boosters that you will need in order to lose weight.  There is no real secret to speed up a slow metabolism it just making simple changes in your life.
