Question by : Is this is a healthy diet/ weight loss plan?

I went to the doctor on 8/6 and I weighed 181. I have been dieting and exercising since 8/3. Today is 8/11 and I weighed in at 175. Is this healthy weight loss? I am 18 and have been overweight my entire life. I have drastically changed my diet by only eating healthy foods (fruits, veggies, granola, plain nonfat greek yogurt, egg whites) and have been working out every day. However, when I work out, I either run 2 miles around 20 mins, or do elliptical for like 30 mins. I am not working out for the recommended 60 mins per day. My daily caloric intake is usually just under 1200. I want to make sure I am losing fat not muscle. Also, could the scale be lying? Because I don’t see how it is possible to lose 6ish pounds in a week….

First thing first EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE. Second not getting enough protein is obviously make you lose a large amount of muscle mass in which you could end up gaining weight instead of losing it so i suggest you to add foods like tuna, salmon other oily fish for the omega 3’s chicken breast and other high protein low fat foods, whole eggs are great as well but if you’re worried about your cholesterol levels limit eggs for 1-2 a day whole eggs, and dont forget to add whole grains as well as they help into lowering cholesterol and gives the body plenty of B vitamins which are essentials for the body. Thirdly i would suggest you to not worry about your calorie intake if you’re eating healthy because you may end up counting every single calorie that passes through your mouth which is unhealthy. And lastly i would trade in the scale for inch tape because weight varies in bone mass and muscle mass which is not what you want to eliminate just use an inch tape to take measurements and use the mirror to reflect your weight.
