Question by mlcorbet2: Example of daily diet to boost metabolism?
I am well aware that in addition to regular exercise, one must also eat about six smaller meals per day to aid in boosting metabolism. I’ve been told this by many people. I would just like some examples of a daily diet that would help one to boost their metabolism.

    Here’s what I do:

8:30am – Smoothie (made with strawberries, banana, fat-free yogurt, skim milk & protein powder)
One pack of unsweetened instant oatmeal

10:00am – Two rice cakes, Green Apple, another smoothie (like above)

12:00pm – Chicken sandwhich with low-fat mayo, carrots, celery and a piece of fruit, one mozerella cheesestring

2:30pm – Small handful of almonds, a couple of whole grain crackers, piece of fruit

5:00pm – Lean meat grilled or broiled (like salmon, or chicken breast) with some steamed vegetables or salad (low-fat dressing)

7:00pm – a piece of fruit, or frozen yoghurt (sometimes when i’m working out, i’ll throw some protein in here like a few slices of meat or a 1/2 cup of cottage cheese)

I try not to eat after 7pm. only water.

Here’s my recipe for my high protein complex carb shake:

    1 banana
    1/4 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup skim milk or soy milk
    1 Tablespoon bee pollen
    Ice blended to desired consistency.

I have a shake first thing in the morning. Then I have a protein bar a couple hours later. Another shake around noon. Some fruit a couple hours later. A healthy meal for supper. Then I have another shake about 30 minutes before bed. This will keep your metabolism up.

The reason I use bee pollen is for the natural B vitamins and it is also higher in protein than whey. It contains vitamins C and E. Plus trace minerals and contains complex carbohydrates. So you see you have a complete food in one tablespoon mixed in a shake. It will give your shake kind of a nutty taste. I get my bee pollen from beeroyalproducts.com because I have found they have the freshest and purest on the market. Also this is where I got the recipe.lol
