Question by Anon Ymous: Does this sound like a good metabolism boosting breakfast to start the day?
I’ve lost 60 lbs. in the last few months and i want to lose about 20 more.

Tommorow, before school this is what i will have for breakfast:

2 eggs scrambled, 2 slices of turkey bacon, 1 piece of 45 calorie honey wheat toast, and half of a medium/small sized grapefruit.

Does this sound good?? I want to boost my metabolism to keep it going through the day, and also want fuel for my brain so i can focus in school.

Not really. The eggs and grapefruit are great, everything else… not so much. Have some raisins and a few raw nuts instead of toast and turkey bacon. Those are both natural healthy sources of energy.

If I were you I’d take the eggs and bacon out of the menu (cholesterol and all that) and just eat some whole grain cereal. Also, you aren’t actually boosting your metabolism. All this metabolism talk is actually the thermogenic effect of food, that is, some foods may actually require more energy to digest than it actually provides. You can look up a list of food that do that and add it to your breakfast.

But I personally don’t believe that all the trouble is worth it.
